Delivering a client or community vision is at the heart of what we do.
Successfully delivering a project is often complex. It involves fulfilling a vision for the client or community, combined with the more practical aspects of ensuring the project delivers for the end user as well as landing on time and on budget.
Engaging with stakeholders is fundamental to what we do.
The kind of approach we take is to navigate a path forward when there are competing perspectives, constraints on resources and often exacting timeframes to deliver outstanding outcomes.
The success of the project depends on having great communication and clear processes, whilst maintaining a positive relationship with all contributors, consultants and end users.
David is a qualified architect with over 25 years’ experience in both commercial and charity sector roles. The first half of his career was working at Haskoll Architects (now Ryder Architects) on many varieties of project with individuals and corporate clients. These ranged from £500k to over £200m and often had strong commercial drivers, such as retail, residential and leisure. David gained particular expertise in feasibility and planning stages of projects, whilst also being involved in the on-site delivery and oversight.
The second half of his career has been with Habitat for Humanity, a large global charity who specialise in community development and affordable housing. His skills learned in this role extended to a combination of business development, project management and client-side advisory services. More recently he served as their CEO before leaving at the end of 2024, following a merger and restructure. This now affords him the opportunity to work as a consultant on projects where he brings value and experience.
"David is, first and foremost, passionate about the projects, the clients and the communities that he works with and for. He is a creative problem solver, and has an eye for the detail. His enthusiasm for construction projects shines through and he takes huge pride in delivering quality results."
"...a creative problem solver...delivering quality results."
"David is a highly professional practitioner. His levels of commitment, integrity and knowledge are beyond doubt. He brought energy, excitement and vision to our project at St Leonard's. He is able to combine a detailed approach with a big picture appreciation that is a commendable combination. I cannot commend him highly enough."
"He brought energy, excitement and vision to our project."
"I have had the pleasure of working with David for over a decade, both as a colleague and in a client-professional relationship. During this time, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism as a fully qualified Architect and as a Project Manager.
David and I first collaborated at Habitat for Humanity, where his commitment to excellence and teamwork stood out. In every role he undertakes, David is meticulous and dedicated, always striving to deliver the highest standard of quality in both the final product and his professional services. His ability to balance architectural objectives with managerial processes ensures that his clients receive outstanding results.
David is committed to excellence and goes above and beyond to meet and exceed client expectations."
"...his commitment to excellence and teamwork stood out."
"David has a discerning eye not only for development opportunities within his field, but a gift for choosing high quality architects and contractors from whom he draws out fine work. He loves creating good projects with individuals or with teams.
GB Homes came to rely heavily on David’s project management skills, which were used by a variety of organisations and church communities to redevelop their buildings. His ability to multi-task in a small organisation was invaluable: as a manager he is firm but compassionate, possessed of a strategic eye but an ability to master detail without being distracted by it.
He is a creative and sensitive person with the rare ability to work within a team or to lead it."
"...a gift for choosing high quality architects and contractors from whom he draws out fine work."
"As Senior Director on behalf of Kingsley Hall I have known and worked with David for more than 10 years. Kingsley Hall is a charity with 96 years of heritage and was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) in recognition of its outstanding community service and on completion of a £13m community redevelopment project in the heart for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
"David acted as the redevelopment Project Manager for our comprehensive project and did a fabulous job of understanding our client brief and local need. He provided great design and technical support whilst ensuring that our project was completed within our timelines and budget. I can wholeheartedly recommend High Cornerstone Projects."
Our experience was very professional and very relational and everything we were looking for and we wouldn’t hesitate to use HCP in the future."
